Lautoka eyes fifth Fiji FACT title

The Lautoka football club is preparing to compete for its fifth BiC Fiji FACT title in Labasa. The team, nicknamed the Baby Blues, has established itself as one of Fiji's most successful clubs, with four titles and three runner-up finishes in the tournament's history.

Lautoka secured its first Fiji FACT title in 2000, defeating Nadroga 2-0. Two years later, in 2002, they clinched their second crown after a penalty shootout victory over Nasinu. Following a significant gap, the club returned to prominence, winning the title in 2023 with a 2-1 extra-time win against Rewa. They successfully defended their championship in 2024, narrowly beating Navua 1-0.

Notably, Lautoka has never faced Ba or Suva in a Fiji FACT final. Their only final against Nadroga was in 2000, marking their inaugural title. The team will return to Subrail Park in Labasa, the same venue where they triumphed in 2024, which is expected to boost their confidence as they pursue further success.
