Lavrov Slams West for Promoting 'Zelenskyy's Terrorism,' Says Russia Faces Existential Threat

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has sharply criticized the West, accusing it of promoting what he termed "Volodymyr Zelenskyy's terrorism" and actively working to destabilize and break up Russia. In an interview with TASS, Lavrov asserted that the West is attempting to frame recent events in Ukraine as a pivotal moment, hoping to ultimately defeat Russia.

They see how many of his long-range weapons hit their intended targets and promote the current developments as a turning point, as a story about the Ukrainian character being able to defeat the 'aggressor' Russia, which allegedly wanted to conquer all of Europe after Ukraine.

Lavrov claimed that Western media is highlighting Ukraine's long-range missile strikes as evidence of its capability to defeat Russia, portraying the conflict as a narrative where Ukrainian resilience will overcome the "aggressor." He suggested that this narrative serves the Western goal of achieving a "strategic defeat" of Russia and pursuing its "decolonization," which he interprets as an attempt to dismantle the country.

Hence the calls again for Russia to be dealt a strategic defeat and for Russia to be decolonized, which openly implies another attempt to break up our country.

The minister emphasized the gravity of the situation for Russian citizens, stating that "almost the entire West" is arrayed against Russia. He pointed to Western support for anti-Russian organizations established by Russians living abroad, which he said are actively fundraising for efforts aimed at fragmenting Russia. Lavrov believes these actions are no longer being concealed and that Russian central television channels are broadcasting evidence of Western intentions.

Now, when they again talk about 'strategic defeat,' when they actively support our displaced people who establish various anti-Russian organizations in Europe and raise money for some kind of underground struggle aimed at breaking up Russia, they are no longer even hiding it.

Lavrov also accused the West, particularly the Anglo-Saxons, of waging a proxy war against Russia through Ukraine. He noted the continuous supply of advanced weaponry and the development of new high-tech missile systems for Ukraine, describing this level of military support as unprecedented. He further alleged that the West and Kyiv authorities were preparing provocations to turn Russian society against its government, implying that the current "special military operation" was initiated in response to Western desires to prevent societal stability and contentment within Russia.

The fact that our former allies, namely the Anglo-Saxons, are now waging war against us through Ukraine with varying degrees of intensity, London more, and the United States somewhat less, flooding it with advanced weapons and announcing the production of new lethal and high-tech anti-missile systems specifically for Ukraine, simply put, is something that has never happened before.
