Senior deputy floor leader Choi Soo-jin stated on May 26th that lawmakers believe strong measures are necessary to prevent recurrence. "Wouldn't it be right for him to decide his own future?" she asked reporters. Senior deputy spokesperson Choi Bo-yoon added that the party is receiving many demands from members for severe punishment. "Voices within the party are asking if an apology is enough," she said.
