Lawyer Chukwudi Oli wins APGA Reps ticket in Anambra

Chukwudi Oli, a lawyer, has emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) primary election for the Njikoka/Dunukofia and Anaocha Federal Constituency in Anambra State. The primary, held in anticipation of the January 16, 2027, general elections, saw Oli declared the victor by the party's returning officer, Ejimofor Opara, on Tuesday night.

Oli garnered a significant 10,566 votes, comfortably defeating his closest rival, Oha Chisom, who polled 3,418 votes. Other contestants, including Tochukwu John, Udoji Chike, and Okoye Charles, received fewer votes. The total number of votes cast in the election reached 16,742. Opara confirmed that Oli met all party and electoral requirements, securing the highest number of valid votes.

Following his victory, Oli expressed gratitude to the APGA National Working Committee, the party's national leader and Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, and supporters within the constituency. He stated his intention to "change the political status quo" and vowed not to disappoint the constituents who placed their confidence in him. Oli also pledged to deliver "quality representation" and bring "a smile to the faces of my constituents" if elected in 2027, emphasizing his grassroots political background. He also acknowledged the media's role in his campaign consultations.
