Lawyer Questions Official Status of Fake Diploma Case File Completion

The legal team for Roy Suryo and Tifauziah Tyassuma, also known as Dr. Tifa, has responded to the news that their case file concerning allegations of a fake diploma belonging to President Joko Widodo has been declared complete (P21) by the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office. The announcement was made by Kombes Iman Imanuddin, Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police.

We consider it not an official announcement, because it was not a special press conference and it was at the end of a press conference for another case, and it was only answering reporters' questions.

However, Refly Harun, the lawyer representing Suryo and Tifa, expressed reservations about the announcement. He stated that it was not an official press conference but rather a response to a reporter's question at the end of a press conference for another case. Harun described the police director's statement as appearing hesitant, suggesting it was not a definitive official announcement.

Imanuddin had previously stated that the police had fulfilled all the requirements requested by the prosecutor's office. He indicated that the next step would be the transfer of case files and suspects (Phase II) to the prosecutor's office, after which the prosecution would prepare the indictment for trial. Despite this, Harun remains cautious, awaiting further official confirmation before commenting extensively on the case's progression.
