Le Thi Thuy re-elected head of Vietnam Women's Union

Bà Lê Thị Thủy has been re-elected as the President of the Vietnam Women's Union, securing the position for the 2026-2030 term. The announcement came during the 14th National Congress of the Vietnam Women's Union, held in Hanoi.

The congress, which convened at the National Convention Center, saw the election of 111 delegates to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union for its 14th term. The remaining 16 positions on the committee will be filled later. Following the election, the first meeting of the Central Committee elected 24 members to the Central Standing Committee for the 14th term.

Bà Thủy, who is 62 years old and holds a master's degree in law, previously served as President of the Vietnam Women's Union for the 2022-2027 term. She is also a member of the Party Central Committee and previously held positions including Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate and Secretary of the Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee. The congress emphasized the importance of adapting to new opportunities and challenges as the country enters a new era, aiming to foster a democratic, prosperous, and happy nation.
