Leader of 'Twins' crime group caught preparing to flee to Greece

Authorities have captured the alleged leader of the 'İkizler' (Twins) crime organization, identified by the initial R.Y., during an operation in Milas, Muğla province. The arrest followed an extensive 1.5-year technical and physical surveillance operation conducted by the Kocaeli Gendarmerie Command.

According to reports, R.Y. was apprehended while with a female associate and was reportedly in the process of preparing to escape to Greece. This capture is part of an ongoing investigation into the criminal syndicate.

Earlier in June, an operation targeting the 'İkizler' organization led to the arrest and jailing of several suspects, including Mehmet Yaşar, another alleged leader. The group is accused of various crimes, including usury, forming a criminal organization, laundering proceeds of crime, and extortion.

Following his arrest, R.Y. was transferred to the courthouse after completing procedures at the gendarmerie station. The investigation into the full scope of the organization's activities and its members continues.
