Lean3 Cabin Motorcycle to Debut in Japan in October, Taiwan in February 2027

The Lean3, a novel electric "cabin motorcycle," is set to launch in Japan this October, with Taiwan following in February 2027. Developed by Lean Mobility, the vehicle is now available for pre-order in both markets.

In Japan, the Lean3 is categorized as a "mini-car," meaning it can be driven by individuals holding a regular driver's license, including those with an automatic transmission license. Its design emphasizes a compact size, measuring 2,480mm in length and 970mm in width, with a single-seat cockpit and an integrated air conditioning system. This configuration targets the urban short-distance travel market.

The Lean3 boasts a top speed of 60 km/h and a range of approximately 100 kilometers on a single charge, sufficient for daily urban needs like commuting and shopping. Charging is straightforward, compatible with standard 100V and 200V home power outlets, eliminating the need for specialized charging equipment.

Autobacs Seven, a Japanese automotive goods retailer, announced that pre-orders are now open across all Autobacs Cars stores nationwide. The vehicle is priced from 1.698 million yen (approximately NT$340,000). This move by Autobacs expands its electric mobility offerings, which began with electric scooters and other small motorized vehicles in February 2024.

However, Taiwanese customers face a longer wait. Originally slated for delivery to corporate clients in August, the Lean3's delivery schedule has been pushed to February 2027. Individual pre-orders in Taiwan are expected to commence delivery in the first quarter of 2027.
