Taiwan's Vice President: Drones Offer Opportunity for Tech Diplomacy

Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim sees drones as a key opportunity for Taiwan, positioning the island as a capable manufacturer in a global market where many nations desire but cannot produce these advanced technologies. She articulated this vision during a Central News Agency interview, emphasizing drones' potential as a tool for technological diplomacy and regional cooperation.

Hsiao pointed to a recent Taiwanese drone donation to Palau as a concrete example of the "Taiwan Can Help" initiative. She explained that Taiwan's manufacturing capabilities, combined with international collaboration, can leverage drones for various applications beyond military use. These include maritime conservation, law enforcement at sea, logistics in remote areas, and the delivery of medical supplies, addressing specific needs in partner nations.

The Vice President stressed that international partnerships are vital for Taiwan's drone development.
