Lebak Free Health Check Program Reaches 47.52% Coverage, Health Office Aims for First Place in Banten

The Lebak Health Office in Banten, Indonesia, has made significant strides with its Free Health Check (CKG) program, achieving coverage for 714,569 residents, or 47.52% of the district's 1.5 million population. This initiative, aimed at improving public health, is actively working towards a target of 65% coverage to secure the top position in the Banten province.

Endang Komarudin, Secretary of the Lebak Health Office, stated that the program's success is a key effort to enhance community well-being. To meet the ambitious target, the office is intensifying CKG services across various sectors. This includes reaching out to government agencies, the regional legislative council, state-owned and regional-owned enterprises, police, military, and law enforcement officials. The program also extends to cooperative members and community organizations.

CKG screenings are being conducted extensively in strategic locations such as schools, religious gatherings, residential areas, Islamic boarding schools, and community organizations. The program also utilizes public events like Car Free Day and various exhibitions to broaden its reach. For direct access, residents can visit 44 community health centers (puskesmas), sub-health centers (pustu), and village health posts (poskesdes) spread across Lebak's 28 sub-districts.

Dr. Sudiarto Setiawan, Acting Head of the Rangkasbitung Community Health Center, noted that his facility serves 50 to 70 CKG participants daily, primarily from urban and rural communities. He highlighted the program's importance, initiated by President Prabowo Subianto, in identifying health risk factors. The checks cover early detection of hypertension, blood sugar levels, mental health, lung conditions, and central obesity. "CKG aims to detect various health conditions early that could potentially develop into acute diseases. We urge the public to make CKG examinations a habit," Setiawan urged.
