Lee Jun-seok argued that the President deliberately avoided announcing the investment plans, which are heavily concentrated in the Honam region, before the local elections. He suggested that the President was concerned about how such a plan would be perceived in other regions. Therefore, Lee claimed, the projects were unveiled just before the Democratic Party's convention, where the proportion of Honam party members is significant.

Furthermore, Lee recalled President Lee's past campaign promise to create companies like Nvidia and, if nationalized, share 30% of their stock with the public for dividend payments. Lee implied a discrepancy between past promises and current actions regarding public benefit from major projects.
