Lee Tae-seok, Lee Kang-hee play full match in Austria Wien's opening day loss

Austria Wien suffered a heavy 0-3 defeat in their opening match of the 2026-2027 Austrian Bundesliga season. The team, featuring South Korean players Lee Tae-seok and Lee Kang-hee, lost on the road to Wolfsberger AC at the Lavantal Arena.

Both Lee Tae-seok and Lee Kang-hee started the match and played the entire duration. Lee Tae-seok featured as a left wing-back, while Lee Kang-hee played in the center-back position. Despite their full participation, they were unable to prevent their team from succumbing to a significant loss.

This match marks the beginning of the new season for Lee Tae-seok, who recently participated in the 2026 North and Central America World Cup, his first appearance in the tournament finals. After the World Cup break, he returned to his club. Last season, Lee played in 30 league matches, contributing three goals and five assists.

Lee Kang-hee joined Austria Wien last June on a four-year contract, transitioning to European football from K League 2 club Gyeongnam FC. In his debut season with the Austrian club, he appeared in 27 official matches, including 22 league games and cup competitions. The team's struggles were evident early, as Wolfsberger attacker Giacomo Vrioni scored from the penalty spot in the 18th minute.
