Leeds United co-owner arrested in Ohio for soliciting prostitution

Jed York, a co-owner of the celebrated football club Leeds United, found himself in legal trouble in Ohio, leading to his arrest for soliciting prostitution. The incident occurred last weekend, casting a shadow over his team's recent 1-0 victory against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League's opening match.

Court documents reveal that York, 46, contacted a woman through a prostitution website, agreeing to pay $140 for sexual services. He traveled to a mobile home park in Wheat Hill, where law enforcement apprehended him. Prosecutors later amended the initial prostitution charge to a lesser offense of disorderly conduct. He also faced a charge for weapon possession.

American media reported that York was sentenced to one day in jail for each charge, with the sentences running concurrently. He was released after posting a $5,000 bail. In addition to the disorderly conduct fine of $150, he was also fined $1,000 for weapon possession.

York holds significant stakes in multiple sports franchises, including being the majority owner of the NFL team San Francisco 49ers and having ownership interests in Leeds United and Glasgow Rangers. He has been married to Danielle Belluomini for ten years and is a father of two children.
