Zinzi criticized this as a double standard, contrasting it with perceived outrage over similar issues elsewhere.

Our position has always been clear: we were the first to raise the incompatibility. The Ministry of the Interior noted that at the time of appointment, Cuomo was still mayor of Portici and could not be appointed councilor.

Addressing internal party dynamics, Zinzi dismissed concerns about the Lega's expansion into southern Italy. He characterized criticisms from some northern colleagues as stemming from frustration rather than genuine strategic disagreement. Zinzi argued that a stronger Lega presence in the South bolsters the party's national project, citing infrastructure investments and job creation initiatives as evidence of its effectiveness.
