Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu Attends Kaohsiung Residents Abroad Association Handover, Wishes Ko Chih-en Success

Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu attended a handover ceremony for the Taiwan Association of Kaohsiung Residents Abroad on Friday, where he met with Kaohsiung mayoral candidate Ko Chih-en and other Kuomintang (KMT) officials.

Han expressed his gratitude to the outgoing and incoming presidents of the association for their service and dedication. He also offered his best wishes to Ko Chih-en and other KMT candidates seeking re-election, hoping they would "achieve all their wishes."

The event, held at a well-known restaurant in Kaohsiung's Sanmin District, was attended by a large number of association members, KMT representatives, and supporters of Han. The turnout was so significant that over 40 tables were set up, resembling a private booking.

Han emphasized the importance of "five types of relationships" in Taiwanese society: classmates, fellow townspeople, those with the same surname, those born in the same year, and colleagues. He highlighted the role of hometown associations in supporting their members, drawing parallels to Taiwanese businesspeople working abroad.

Notably, Democratic Progressive Party legislator Lin Tai-hua also attended the ceremony and shared a table with Han. Han acknowledged her presence and greeted her, underscoring a moment of cross-party interaction at the event.
