Lexus launches limited-edition IS with exclusive styling for the model’s 25th anniversary

Lexus is marking 25 years of its IS luxury sedan with a limited US edition that puts appearance ahead of subtlety. The IS Special Appearance Package will be restricted to 350 cars, with pricing to come before launch.

The package uses the IS 350 F Sport as its foundation. Its defining feature is an exclusive Envious dark-green paint finish, paired with black exterior treatment and black 19-inch multi-spoke BBS forged wheels. Red brake calipers add a contrasting detail.

Inside, Lexus combines black NuLuxe upholstery with Ultrasuede inserts, green stitching and satin-chrome trim. A panoramic sunroof, power rear sunshade, Mark Levinson surround-sound system and an intelligent driving technology package come standard.

The special edition retains a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 producing 311 horsepower and 38.7 kilogram-metres of peak torque. Buyers can choose rear-wheel drive with an eight-speed automatic transmission or all-wheel drive with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Lexus also makes its Handling Package standard, upgrading the suspension and driving modes. The result, in the manufacturer’s presentation, is an IS designed to combine a more aggressive visual identity with added equipment and sharper handling.
