Lexus Unveils Updated NX Worldwide With Hybrid Power Across the Range

Lexus has given its best-selling NX compact crossover a technology-focused update, replacing pure gasoline power across the range with hybrid systems and adding a cabin feature designed to make the vehicle feel more like a living room.

The facelifted NX, unveiled globally on Sept. 1, receives revised exterior and interior styling under the development theme “DISCOVER YOUR EDGE.” Lexus also updated the hybrid systems in the 450h+, 350h and 300h variants. The company expects deliveries to begin across global markets from late 2026.

The NX grows 30 millimeters to 4,690 mm in length, while its width and height remain 1,865 mm and 1,660 mm. Lexus redesigned the body with sharper lines, integrated the turn signals and daytime running lights into the headlamps, and added new double-L rear light units. Nine exterior colors and 18- or 20-inch wheel options will be available.

Inside, the vehicle uses a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 14-inch central screen. Its new Sensory Concierge feature adjusts cabin lighting and fragrance according to passenger preferences. Lexus also upgraded its Safety System+ package, including lane changes, collision prevention, driver monitoring, blind-spot detection and surround-view imaging.

The 450h+ uses a newly developed lithium-ion battery with 8% higher output and 30% greater capacity, along with DC fast charging. The hybrid models add an integrated e-Axle and silicon-carbide inverter components. Lexus also reinforced the body and suspension, reduced the steering wheel size to 360 mm, added variable-ratio steering and refined the E-Four electronic all-wheel-drive system. The NX has sold about 1.9 million units in more than 90 countries and regions since its 2014 launch.
