Libertad officially confirms signing of 'El Tanque' Ramírez

Paraguayan football club Libertad has officially welcomed striker Iván Ramírez Ferreira to its squad. The 22-year-old forward, who made his professional debut with Guaraní, arrives at Libertad's home ground, known as La Huerta.

The transfer of Ramírez, nicknamed "El Tanque" (The Tank), is described as a type of exchange with Guaraní. In addition to a significant financial sum, Guaraní will also gain the services of Elvio Vera Brítez, a player from Libertad's roster who had not received ample opportunities at his previous club.

Ramírez's nascent professional career includes 49 appearances and 9 goals since 2025. He now has the chance to showcase his abilities with Libertad, a club recognized as the most successful in Paraguayan football in the 21st century. He joins fellow new signings Nicolás Freire and Agustín Manzur in the squad, which is managed by Nelson Haedo Valdez.

Libertad is set to commence their Clausura 2026 championship season this coming Sunday. Their opening match will be against rivals Olimpia, held at the Defensores del Chaco stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 PM.
