Libya launches digital platform to modernize exhibitions and conferences

Libya's Minister of Economy and Trade, Suhail Abushiha, has officially launched a new digital platform designed to revolutionize the organization of exhibitions and conferences within the country. This initiative aims to digitize the sector, modernize management processes, and ultimately enhance Libya's capability to host both domestic and international events.

The launch ceremony, held at the Ministry of Economy and Trade headquarters in Tripoli, was attended by key figures including the Head of the General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences, Engineer Issam Al-Oul. The platform introduces an electronic system for managing event logistics, participant registration, and overall event coordination. It also establishes a comprehensive database of exhibitions, conferences, organizers, participants, and visitors.

The platform goes beyond merely showcasing events; it aims to provide comprehensive digital tools to streamline registration and participation procedures and event management. It also seeks to foster communication among organizers, exhibitors, participants, and visitors, while creating a database that supports sector development and enhances the quality of services provided.

Issam Al-Oul described the platform as a significant stride in the sector's digital transformation, reflecting the Authority's commitment to a modern management system. He emphasized that the platform offers digital tools to streamline procedures and foster better communication among stakeholders. Al-Oul highlighted digital transformation as a key priority, with plans for the platform to continuously evolve in line with global industry developments.

The Minister of Economy and Trade affirmed the platform's launch as a major institutional achievement, moving Libya towards an integrated digital ecosystem for the sector. This strategic shift from traditional event management to smart digital management is expected to modernize the industry, attract more local and international events, and strengthen Libya's position in the global exhibitions and conferences market.
