Lifeguards save 12-year-old boy pulled unconscious from sea in Halkidiki

A dramatic rescue unfolded on Wednesday morning in Hanioti, Halkidiki, when a 12-year-old boy was pulled from the sea unconscious. The incident occurred around 11:00 AM, prompting an immediate response from lifeguards.

According to reports and a social media post by volunteer rescuer Ioannis Kolokythas, the lifeguards acted swiftly to retrieve the boy from the water. They were able to successfully resuscitate him and stabilize his condition. The quick actions of the lifeguards prevented a potential tragedy.

Following the resuscitation, the National Center for Emergency Care (EKAV) was alerted. Both an immediate response motorcycle and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene. The boy was then transported to the hospital for further care and observation.

Kolokythas described the event as a "miracle," highlighting the "flawless teamwork" that led to the best possible outcome and brought joy to everyone present. The successful rescue serves as a testament to the vigilance and effectiveness of the lifeguards on duty.
