Lille-PSG: Goalkeeper Safonov suffers scare during warm-up

Paris Saint-Germain's Russian goalkeeper, Matveï Safonov, had a concerning moment during his warm-up for the match against Lille on Friday. The 25-year-old, who was set to start in goal, collided with the goalkeeping coach and remained on the field for several minutes, receiving attention from the medical staff.

The incident caused concern among fans and staff, as Safonov appeared to be experiencing discomfort, particularly in his neck area. He was seen with a bandage on his neck when he eventually took his place in goal for the Ligue 1 match.

Safonov, who joined PSG from Krasnodar, was making his appearance for the Parisian club. Had he been unable to play, Lucas Chevalier would have been the likely replacement. Chevalier has not featured in an official match for PSG since January 23.

Despite the pre-match scare, Safonov was deemed fit to play and started the game against Lille. The match was part of the second day of the Ligue 1 season.
