Lin Kuo-chang, the Democratic Progressive Party's candidate for Yilan County magistrate, launched a dedicated Rotary Club support group on Wednesday, drawing a large turnout of members eager to back his campaign. The gathering was marked by a collective call to "restore Yilan's honor."

Lin, a long-time Rotary member himself, shared his 30-year connection to the organization, recalling his journey from a scholarship recipient to a club president. He stated that he consistently adheres to the Rotary's Four-Way Test, focusing on fairness and service, and pledged to apply these principles if elected county magistrate.

His campaign platform includes practical policies such as raising the birth subsidy to NT$30,000, promoting a growth fund for ages 0-18, offering free registration for young children, and implementing a smart elder card with 12,000 annual points. Legislator Wang I-chuan criticized the incumbent administration for tarnishing Yilan's reputation and urged voters to support Lin, whom he described as someone who understands industry trends and gets things done.
