Tsai Pi-ru Urges Unity in Zhubei Mayoral Race Amid KMT-TPP Integration Stalemate

Former legislator Tsai Pi-ru crossed party lines to support Kuomintang (KMT) candidate Wu Ruo-yin at her campaign headquarters inauguration in Hsinchu. Despite rainy weather, hundreds of supporters gathered to show their backing for Wu, who is running for a legislative seat in the Xiangshan district.

Tsai Pi-ru, a prominent figure from the Taiwan People's Party (TPP), addressed the ongoing deadlock in negotiations between the KMT and TPP regarding the Zhubei mayoral election. She acknowledged the difficulty of achieving integration but stressed that 'only unity can win.' Tsai urged both parties to maintain open communication and coordination to overcome the impasse.

During the event, Tsai also expressed her long-standing friendship with Wu Ruo-yin. She mentioned that she was also scheduled to support a TPP candidate in the same district, indicating a complex political landscape. The presence of other political figures, including Hsinchu City Council Speaker Hsu Hsiu-jui and Sun Yat-sen School President Chang Ya-chung, highlighted Wu Ruo-yin's popularity and the broad support she has garnered.

Wu Ruo-yin, referred to as 'National Sister,' outlined her vision for the Xiangshan district, emphasizing her commitment to serving as a crucial point of contact for residents. She aims to listen to local voices on issues ranging from daily life and transportation to community development and the needs of the elderly, women, and children. Wu pledged to actively engage with the community to translate local needs into concrete actions.
