Linda Blair's Home Searched Over Alleged Animal Welfare Violations

Linda Blair, the actress globally recognized for her role as Regan MacNeil in "The Exorcist," is once again in the spotlight, this time due to an animal welfare investigation at her Los Angeles County residence. Authorities conducted a search of her property after discovering a number of dogs that appeared to exceed the limits of her permit.

The operation, involving over 70 officials from various government agencies and law enforcement, took place on July 31. According to TMZ, the search was not related to any criminal charges but focused on verifying potential administrative violations concerning the number of animals housed on the premises. Blair's permit allows her to shelter approximately 60 rescued dogs, but authorities counted around 200 during the inspection.

Despite the significant discrepancy, none of the animals were removed from Blair's property. Animal Control officers were present to assess the health and care of the dogs, ensuring the operation proceeded smoothly. Officials from Zoning, Building, and Safety, along with investigators from the District Attorney's office, also inspected various parts of the expansive property.

Blair, who was present during the police procedure, addressed the situation via an Instagram post shortly after. She sought to reassure her followers, explaining that the issue primarily involved "paperwork and some new diagrams." Blair mentioned her ongoing efforts to relocate over the past two years, stating it is "imperative for my health and for trying to help more animals." She expressed frustration with the notification process, questioning why mail was not used for official communication.
