LINE Unveils Qixi Festival Chatroom Fireworks and Character Surprise

LINE is celebrating the Qixi Festival, also known as Chinese Valentine's Day, with a special interactive feature for its users. Starting August 19th, users can activate a temporary "chat room fireworks effect" by typing one of three designated keywords: "小傢伙" (Little Guy), "煙火" (Fireworks), or "夏夜晚風" (Summer Night Breeze).

Upon entering these keywords, users will see the popular character nicknamed "Gua Bao," officially referred to as "Little Guy (tentative name)," appear alongside a full-screen fireworks display within their chat conversations. This festive effect aims to add a romantic ambiance to Qixi Festival chats.

The promotion is available from August 19th at 10:00 AM to August 31st at 10:59 PM Taiwan time. To ensure the effect works, users need to have LINE iOS version 9.15.0 or later, or LINE Android version 10.2.0 or later. Notably, the feature is not supported on Android OS versions 7.1 and below, nor on the LINE computer version.

In addition to the chat room fireworks, LINE is also presenting a separate limited-time effect on its main "Home" page for Qixi. This feature is inspired by the legend of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl, featuring designs of their meeting, the bright moon, and a starry sky, adding a ceremonial touch to the festival.
