Ling Jiou Mountain Buddhist Society donates over 1.8 million yuan in supplies to aid vulnerable families in Taoyuan

The Ling Jiou Mountain Buddhist Society has provided significant aid to vulnerable families in Taoyuan through its "Compassionate Sponsorship" event. As part of the society's 33rd Water Land Dharma Assembly, a substantial donation of essential food supplies was made to support those in need.

The generous contribution, valued at over 1.8 million yuan, included 63,000 catties of rice and 1,800 bottles of cooking oil. These provisions were officially handed over on July 28th, with Taoyuan City Social Affairs Bureau Director Chen Bao-min accepting the donation and presenting a plaque of appreciation.

The 'Compassionate Sponsorship' originates from the compassionate wish of Ling Jiou Mountain's founding abbot, Master Hsin Tao. From the spirit of universal offering and almsgiving of the Dharma Assembly, it extends to the social level.

Director Chen highlighted that the "Compassionate Sponsorship" initiative stems from the compassionate vision of the society's founder, Master Hsin Tao. The program extends the spirit of universal offering and almsgiving from the Dharma Assembly to the societal level. The donated goods will be distributed by the Social Affairs Bureau to 48 disadvantaged groups and social welfare institutions across Taoyuan.

In addition to supporting local families, the initiative will also provide aid to elderly individuals living alone in the Gongliao, Pingxi, and Shuangxi districts of New Taipei City. This ensures that the care and blessings extend beyond the event itself, reaching a wider community and offering essential support for basic living needs.
