Hsinchu City Enhances Childcare Benefits with Newborn Gift Packages

Hsinchu City in Taiwan is expanding its support for new families with an enhanced childcare initiative. Starting this year, the city's "Childcare Guidance Service" will offer a gift package valued at over NT$500 to families with newborns born in 2026. This benefit is retroactive to January 1, 2026, for eligible families.

The city government, led by Mayor Kao Hung-an, has already broadened the service to include pregnant women from their seventh month of gestation. This proactive approach aims to equip expectant parents with professional guidance and build their confidence before the baby arrives. The new gift package is intended to further alleviate the financial and practical pressures faced by new parents.

This year, we have already expanded the scope of childcare guidance services to include pregnant women from the seventh month of pregnancy, allowing expectant parents to receive professional companionship and childcare guidance before welcoming their new life, and to build parental confidence early.

The childcare guidance service provides in-home support from trained professionals. Services cover a range of needs, including emotional support during pregnancy, infant care techniques, child development knowledge, parenting advice, and connections to community resources. The gift packages will be available for pickup at a local well-known maternal and infant supply store, "Blue Print," fostering public-private collaboration for greater convenience.

Families residing in Hsinchu City with children under six years old, or expectant mothers seven months pregnant or more, can apply for the free childcare guidance service. The newborn gift package is available for babies born since January 1, 2026, on a first-come, first-served basis. Online applications are also available.
