Lion Travel, JAL and JTA Offer 15% Off Japan Flights With Free eSIM and Hotel Discounts

Lion Travel is targeting Taiwan’s strong demand for Japan travel with a weeklong promotion alongside Japan Airlines and Japan Transocean Air. The campaign offers fares from 15% off on flights to Tokyo, Kansai, Nagoya and Okinawa.

The promotion runs through Sept. 7, with limited Tokyo and Okinawa fares released at 10 a.m. on five specified days. The advertised prices start at NT$6,888 for Tokyo and NT$3,888 for Okinawa. Travel is available through Dec. 31.

Japan’s National Tourism Organization reported a record high for foreign visitors to Japan in July compared with previous years. Taiwanese visitors exceeded 700,000 in a single month, setting another monthly record, according to the article.

Lion Travel said its internal data puts Tokyo, Osaka, Okinawa, Fukuoka and Nagoya among Taiwan travelers’ most popular destinations. Fukuoka ticket sales increased by more than 40% from the same period last year, while Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya also recorded growth. The company expects bookings during the promotion to more than double their usual level as public holidays and the autumn foliage season approach.

Customers can receive discounts on local tours and hotels, a free one-day unlimited Japan eSIM, member rewards and selected coupon offers. Lion Travel said the combined savings on some Tokyo bookings could exceed NT$5,000.
