Lionel Richie reportedly hospitalised in intensive care after concert

Lionel Richie reportedly finished a Missouri concert by performing “All Night Long” from a chair before checking himself into hospital for tests.

The 77-year-old Grammy-winning singer was treated in an intensive care unit after the Aug. 29 show and was reportedly still in hospital. TMZ said he was expected to be released on Tuesday. His next scheduled concert is in San Francisco on Sept. 26 as part of the “Sing A Song All Night Long” tour.

The hospital stay follows another health scare during the tour. In late June, Richie postponed two concerts after falling ill on stage during the tour’s opening night. He returned to perform on June 30 and later thanked fans on Instagram, writing, “Thank you for every message, every kind word, and for all your love. I’m doing well, and I’m grateful for all of you.”

Richie continues to perform to sold-out arenas and serves as a judge on “American Idol.” His best-known songs, including “Hello,” “All Night Long,” “Say You, Say Me” and “Dancing On The Ceiling,” remain part of his live shows.
