Lithuania begins electronic government gateway upgrade for better user experience and security

Lithuania's State Agency for Digital Solutions is undertaking a significant upgrade of its electronic government gateway. The initiative aims to create a more user-friendly and secure online portal for citizens to access state services.

The core of the renovation involves updating the portal's main system, introducing a new user interface, and bolstering security protocols. The agency emphasizes that the new interface will be easier to navigate on both computers and mobile devices. Furthermore, the updated portal will be more accessible for individuals with disabilities, ensuring broader usability.

Protecting citizens' data and strengthening login security are key priorities of the project. The agency also plans to launch a mobile application for the portal later this year, further enhancing accessibility. A simplified, easy-to-read version of the text was prepared using artificial intelligence by researchers at Vytautas Magnus University in collaboration with the news agency ELTA.
