Lithuania Records First Summer Heat Record Amidst Stormy Weather

Lithuania has recorded its first summer heat record, as temperatures soared, leading to tropical nights in certain coastal locations. The weather has been characterized by a mix of conditions, with clear skies overnight giving way to localized, short-lived thunderstorms in the morning.

According to Meteo.lt, Sunday's forecast indicates unstable cloud cover across Lithuania, with widespread scattered showers expected. These showers could be heavy in some areas, and thunderstorms are anticipated in many regions. The possibility of hail has also been mentioned, adding to the volatile weather conditions.

Wind is expected to be from the west, ranging from 7 to 12 meters per second. During thunderstorms, wind gusts could intensify, reaching 15 to 18 meters per second. Daytime temperatures are forecast to reach between 27 and 32 degrees Celsius inland. However, coastal areas, such as Nida and Ventės Ragas, experienced tropical nights, where temperatures remained above 20 degrees Celsius throughout the night, and daytime temperatures are expected to be cooler, ranging from 21 to 26 degrees Celsius.
