Lithuania’s September event marathon brings global stars to town

Lithuania’s event calendar will stay busy as summer gives way to autumn. A$AP Rocky will perform in the country for the first time at Kaunas’ Žalgiris Arena, while the city hosts the 15th international Fejerija fireworks festival.

Vilnius will welcome Snarky Puppy, the five-time Grammy-winning instrumental group whose sound combines jazz, funk, rhythm and blues, rock, soul and gospel. The band will perform at Compensa concert hall on September 9 as part of its international tour.

The September lineup also spans contemporary circus, literature and motorsport. The Helium festival is aimed at circus fans, the Kaunas Book Fair at readers, and Rally Elektrėnai at motorsport enthusiasts.

Music events include a joint album launch by Monika Liu and Los Secretos de Pablo on September 3 in Vilnius. Their project, “Shadows in the Window,” combines Lithuanian popular songs with salsa, cumbia, reggae and other Latin American sounds, with more than 15 musicians on stage.

Alternative rock and post-punk group Akli will present its fourth album, “Theater,” in Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda. Vaidas Baumila will return to the courtyard of Lukiškės Prison, while Solo Ansamblis will play four concerts in three cities. Both of the group’s Vilnius shows have already sold out.
