Lithuanian minister suggests delaying decision on energy company CEO after storm

The minister indicated that the performance and suitability of the current ESO CEO should be evaluated only after the completion and assessment of the power restoration efforts. The immediate priority, according to the minister, is to swiftly restore electricity to all affected customers. As of Thursday morning, 62,000 ESO clients were still without power.

The storm's impact was widespread, disrupting electricity for over 268,000 users at its peak. The severity of the situation prompted the Lithuanian government to declare a state of emergency. To aid in the recovery process, crews from Poland are expected to join the restoration work, and assistance may also be requested from Latvia.
