Prosecutors have also seized an apartment in Palanga that is jointly owned by Skvernelis and his wife as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Kęstutis Budrys, the designated Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated his conviction that Lithuania should acquire a new aircraft for state leaders. Budrys also noted that various acquisition and operational models should be considered, suggesting that a state-owned aircraft could be cost-effective in the long run when factoring in time and other expenses.

The initial decision to nominate Baranovas, who already holds a parliamentary mandate, had drawn public criticism.
