Lithuanian Security Committee Chair Won't Convene Meeting on Russian Provocations

Rimantas Sinkevičius, chairman of Lithuania's National Security and Defense Committee (NSGK), has decided against convening a committee meeting to discuss potential Russian provocations. This decision comes despite intelligence reports indicating possible Russian actions targeting critical infrastructure in the Baltic region.

Sinkevičius asserted that the information brought to public attention regarding these potential provocations was not new. He indicated that such intelligence had been known previously, suggesting that a new meeting would not yield additional insights or necessary actions.

According to Sinkevičius, calling a committee session under these circumstances would be a "waste of time." He implies that the focus should remain on existing security measures and intelligence already in hand, rather than convening to discuss information that has already been processed and acknowledged.
