Lithuanian Vocational Schools Welcome 18,200 Students

Lithuania's vocational education system has seen a strong intake this year, with 18,200 students accepted into professional training programs. An additional 1,600 gymnasium students have chosen to supplement their studies with professional modules, indicating a growing interest in practical skills alongside traditional academic paths.

The Ministry of Education, Science, and Sport (ŠMSM) highlighted that engineering-related vocational programs were the most sought-after by prospective students. This trend suggests a demand for skilled labor in technical fields within the Lithuanian economy.

According to the ministry, the choices made by this year's applicants largely mirror the preferences observed in previous admission cycles. This consistency points to stable career aspirations and a continued recognition of the value of vocational training in Lithuania.
