LIVE: PSG land a major fee for Mbaye as Fofana leaves Lyon and Nakamura targets the Gones on transfer deadline day

Paris Saint-Germain have completed the sale of 18-year-old forward Ibrahim Mbaye to Aston Villa for an estimated €55 million, excluding bonuses. Mbaye joined PSG at age 10 and progressed through the club’s youth system before making his first-team debut.

The Senegal international is moving permanently to the Premier League after eight years in Paris. PSG highlighted that he became the youngest Parisian player to start a Ligue 1 match in 2024, aged 16 years, six months and 23 days.

At Lyon, the search for Malick Fofana’s successor is gathering pace. RMC Sport reports that the club is advancing its pursuit of Keito Nakamura, the 26-year-old Japanese winger from Stade de Reims. Nakamura scored 14 goals and provided three assists in Ligue 2 last season, and he has reportedly already agreed to a permanent move to Lyon. His contract with Reims runs until 2028.

Elsewhere, Chelsea have agreed to recruit Atalanta’s 18-year-old Italian defender Honest Ahanor. The transfer would make him the club’s 13th signing of the summer. Ahanor made 35 appearances in Serie A last season, and Chelsea will pay €48 million. The defender is due to join the London club officially in 2027.

Romain Del Castillo is also leaving Brest for Spanish side Osasuna. The 30-year-old attacking midfielder joined Brest from Rennes in 2021 and has signed with the Liga club until 2028, with an option for another season. Julian Alvarez, meanwhile, was seen training in Madrid, making an immediate move to Barcelona or Arsenal appear unlikely.
