Kuomintang (KMT) legislator Lo Chih-chiang announced in April 2025 his intention to launch a recall petition against Taipei City Councilor Chien Shu-pei. However, over a year later, no concrete steps have been taken, leading to public commentary and mockery.

Media personality and veteran journalist Chen Hui-wen recently highlighted the stalled recall effort. He recalled Lo Chih-chiang's strong words from April 2025, where the legislator declared, "Regardless of the outcome of the big recall, I solemnly announce: I will initiate the recall of Chien Shu-pei." Lo had accused Chien of neglecting her civic duties and personally setting up a petition station to incite the recall of a legislator who had majority support in the Daan District.

Chen Hui-wen then humorously invoked the lyrics of Chyi Chin's popular song "About Winter." He sang, "I think it will be about winter~ In the days without you, I will cherish myself more~ In the years without me, you must take care of yourself~" This sarcastic rendition underscored the perceived inaction and lack of follow-through on Lo's initial pledge.

The original announcement by Lo Chih-chiang framed the recall as a "battle against a bully," emphasizing his determination regardless of the final result. The lack of subsequent action has turned the proposed recall into a subject of public amusement and criticism, questioning the legislator's commitment to his stated political objectives.
