Local Businesses Fund Scholarships for New Students in Tainan

In Tainan's Liuying District, local enterprises are stepping up to support education by providing significant financial aid to new elementary school students. Chongxi Elementary School celebrated its nine new first-graders and five kindergarteners with a special welcome event, announcing that local companies Taichang and Xindai will each provide a NT$10,000 "stable learning scholarship" to every incoming first-grader.

This initiative directly addresses the challenges faced by rural schools, such as declining birth rates, by easing the financial strain on families and encouraging them to keep their children in local educational environments. School principal Wu Jianbang highlighted the unique advantages of small rural schools, including personalized teaching and close-knit relationships between parents, teachers, and students. He expressed gratitude to Taichang and Xindai for their corporate social responsibility, emphasizing that the scholarships will allow children to grow and learn securely in their hometowns.

Liuying District chief Liu Fazhong remarked that these scholarships serve not only as practical encouragement but also as a warm welcome, inspiring the new students to learn happily and grow healthily, ultimately becoming "little suns" who illuminate their own lives and warm others.
