Local knowledge key to Pacific climate action

Pacific communities must be placed at the centre of climate action, because their local knowledge can shape more effective resilience solutions.

Acting British High Commissioner to Fiji Steph Lysaght said communities understand their environments and resources better than outside planners. She argued that they must be involved in designing climate projects.

Lysaght also said the United Kingdom is committed to working with Pacific governments and communities on climate action.
