Localized Storms, Possibly With Hail, Expected in Western Slovenia

Western Slovenia faces the threat of localized thunderstorms, including potential hail, from Thursday evening into Friday morning. The Slovenian Environment Agency (Arso) has issued an orange weather warning for the western region, signaling the possibility of strong winds, heavy downpours, and hail.

Today towards evening and at night, localized storms will form, especially in the west of the country.

The precipitation is expected to spread eastward but will gradually weaken. By Friday morning and parts of the day, the weather should stabilize. However, isolated storms with rain are still possible in western and southern areas on Friday.

Strong winds, downpours, and locally hail are possible.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday is predicted to be mostly cloudy with intermittent local showers. Sunday, however, is expected to bring sunny and dry weather across the country.

Due to dry soil, storm water and flash floods can rise quickly in the west.

Authorities are advising caution, particularly for those camping or staying near flash flood areas, as dry soil conditions could lead to rapid rises in storm water and flash floods in the west.
