London crash: Six injured after 4x4 plows into pedestrians, driver flees

Six pedestrians were injured in East London on Saturday morning when a speeding 4x4 vehicle lost control and plowed into them before the driver fled the scene. Authorities have launched a manhunt for the suspect.

The incident occurred on Green Street in Upton Park. According to the Metropolitan Police, a gray 4x4 appeared at high speed, swerved sharply, struck a lamppost and traffic lights, and then veered uncontrollably into a parked car displaying a learner driver sign.

Pedestrians attempted to escape the out-of-control vehicle, but six were struck and taken to the hospital. Medical professionals assess their injuries as not life-threatening and not expected to cause permanent consequences.

The Metropolitan Police are continuing their investigation, and no arrests have been made so far. Green Street remained closed for hours, with a heavy police presence. Cleanup crews cleared glass and debris from the road. The incident caused significant traffic disruptions and bus diversions around Upton Park tube station.
