Lorena Wiebes sprints to second straight win at Tour de France Femmes

Lorena Wiebes demonstrated her sprinting prowess once again, claiming her second consecutive stage victory at the Tour de France Femmes. The Dutch rider for SD Worx-Protime powered to the finish line on the second stage, a flat 147.9-kilometer route from Aigle to Geneva.

Wiebes launched her decisive sprint with approximately 250 meters remaining, securing her seventh career stage win in the prestigious women's cycling tour. This victory follows her dominant performance in the opening stage on Saturday. Elisa Balsamo of Lidl-Trek finished second in the stage, with Marianne Vos of Team Visma-Lease a Bike taking third place.

With these wins, Wiebes has taken the overall lead in the general classification. She holds a 14-second advantage over Kim Le Court Pienaar. Demi Vollering, the reigning Tour champion, is currently in third place, two seconds further back. The race continues with a hilly 156.5km stage from Geneva to Poligny on Monday.
