Los Alegres del Barranco Perform in Mexico City Amidst Reported Censorship

Sinaloa-based band Los Alegres del Barranco took the stage at the Arena Ciudad de México on Friday night, delivering a performance for their fans amidst reported government censorship and a restricted audience of 3,500 people. The concert, part of their "Siempre Alegres Tour," kicked off with opening acts that aimed to set the mood for the evening.

Early performances included Cosme Tadeo y sus Reyes, who played classic banda music, and Raúl Hernández Jr., son of a legendary Tigres del Norte member. Hernández Jr. paid tribute to artists like Marco Antonio Solís and his father's group with renditions of popular songs. The audience, initially sparse, gradually filled the arena as the night progressed.

Los Alegres del Barranco, featuring Armando Moreno Álvarez, José Pavel Moreno, José Carlos Moreno, and Cristóbal Reyes, made their entrance around 11:30 p.m. after a video showcasing their career. They launched into their hit "Caballero" and later performed other popular tracks like "El Jr." and "Los consejos." The band also honored Vicente Fernández with a mariachi accompaniment, playing "De un rancho a otro" and "El rey."

During the concert, lead singer Armando Moreno alluded to past troubles, dedicating a song to those who offer superficial friendship. This reference likely pointed to issues the band faced the previous year. Despite the reported censorship and limitations, the band expressed gratitude for their loyal fanbase, who continued to dance and sing along to both regional corridos and cumbias.
