LOT​​RA Draw No. 464 Celebrates El Salvador’s Laguna de Alegría

LOTRA placed Laguna de Alegría at the center of its 464th draw, celebrating the volcanic lake known as the “Emerald of America.” Chilean poet Gabriela Mistral gave it that name after being struck by the intense green color of its waters.

The lake lies inside the crater of Tecapa volcano and offers visitors a mix of nature, adventure and local culture. Activities around the site include hiking through the mountain landscape and volcanic scenery, as well as the area’s traditional volcanic mud and sulfur applications.

During the draw’s preliminary stage, Aldo Marroquín, owner of nearby Finca Margarita, presented the leading numbers and selected the briefcases. He also invited Salvadorans to visit and enjoy the destination.

The first-prize ticket, number 26213, won $175,000 and was sold. Tickets 18586 and 34014, carrying the second prize of $20,000 and the third prize of $10,000, respectively, were not sold.

LOTRA said proceeds from its products support charitable work in Salvadoran communities. Through its Juntos Hacemos Beneficencia program, medical brigades provided general consultations, dental care, breast ultrasounds and medicines to 11,448 people in August, with an investment of $69,954.
