Lotte Chairman Inspects New Biologics Plant, Targeting Global Orders

Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin has personally inspected the first plant at Lotte Biologics' Songdo campus in Incheon, marking a significant step in the conglomerate's strategic push into the biopharmaceutical industry. This visit follows Shin's recent tour of overseas operations in Vietnam, highlighting his commitment to expanding Lotte's global reach. The Songdo plant's core construction is now complete, approximately two years after groundbreaking, and has received operational approval. Shin, accompanied by key executives including Lotte Biologics co-CEOs Park Jae-myeon and Shin Yoo-yeol, toured the manufacturing lines. He received briefings on sales activities targeting international pharmaceutical companies and mid-to-long-term strategies. Shin stressed that the biopharmaceutical sector is a critical pillar for the group's overall transformation, urging his team to ensure all post-completion plans proceed without disruption. The facility is now entering the final stages of equipment installation and IT system setup.
