Love Relationship Believed Motive in Student's Murder

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar stated that the murder of a foreign female student at a private university in Petaling Jaya is believed to be linked to a romantic relationship between the victim and the suspect. Both individuals were reportedly living together, and initial investigations suggest that issues related to daily expenses may have also contributed to the motive.

"At the initial stage, police believe the motive for the incident was due to personal issues involving feelings and also about daily expenses," Shazeli said during a press conference. He added that the suspect and the victim knew each other and were in a relationship, but police are not ruling out other investigative avenues until the case is fully resolved.

Forensic teams from the Royal Malaysia Police have seized potential weapons used in the crime. Police are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the exact nature of the injuries sustained by the victim. Investigators have also begun interviewing neighbors to gather any information about suspicious activities or sounds they might have witnessed or heard around the time of the incident.

The 20-something foreign student was discovered dead in her apartment near a condominium in Bandar Sunway on Tuesday morning. Following the discovery, police apprehended a foreign male at the same location to assist with the ongoing investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
