LPPC approves Adaralegbe, Mouka, Obiaraeri, 65 others for SAN rank

The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has approved the elevation of 68 legal practitioners to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

The decision was made during the LPPC's 174th plenary session, chaired by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun. Among the 68 approved individuals, Prof. Nnamdi Onyeka Obiaraeri is the sole successful academic applicant.

The list of successful advocate-appointees includes prominent names such as Adebayo Adaralegbe, Alexander Nduka Muoka, and many others, detailed in order of seniority at the Bar. The LPPC, in a statement signed by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and Secretary of the LPPC, Kabir Akanbi, defined the SAN rank as being conferred upon legal practitioners who have demonstrated exceptional distinction as advocates or academics contributing significantly to legal scholarship.

All shortlisted candidates are required to attend and complete a mandatory pre-swearing-in induction program. The date for this program will be communicated later, after which the successful applicants will be formally conferred with the SAN rank. The committee also issued a warning to the successful applicants.
