Lučani and Čačak Urge Citizens to Ration Water Amid Drought

Municipalities of Lučani and Čačak are calling on residents to use water from the public water supply system sparingly to prevent restrictions. Local authorities are requesting that citizens refrain from using water for non-essential purposes, including watering gardens and lawns, filling swimming pools, and washing vehicles. The Public Utility Company "Vodovod" in Čačak has warned of potential intermittent drops in water pressure in higher-lying areas of the city. This situation mirrors measures taken in Gornji Milanovac at the end of July, which banned the irrational use of water for agricultural irrigation, filling pools, and washing surfaces. Additionally, irrigation from the Dičina River and its tributaries, as well as from wells and springs in that area, is prohibited. The regional water system "Rzav" in Arilje reported exceptionally low water levels in the Rzav River due to drought. This has led to reduced water delivery to users across all five municipalities served by the system, which collectively supply approximately 250,000 inhabitants in Čačak, Lučani, Gornji Milanovac, Arilje, and Požega.
