Lucía Pombo reveals terrifying bleeding scare hours before giving birth

Lucía Pombo said she woke her partner in the early hours before her daughter’s birth after believing her waters had broken. When they turned on the light, she said they found not amniotic fluid but a large pool of blood.

Pombo, a pilot and influencer, recounted the episode while answering followers’ questions on social media. She said doctors had induced labor because she was 41 weeks pregnant. The process began with Propess, and she expected to spend the night in hospital before continuing the induction in the morning.

The bleeding became even more frightening when Pombo stopped feeling the baby move. Medical staff rushed her to the delivery room to check the child’s pulse and determine whether she was in distress. Pombo said an emergency caesarean would have been necessary if the baby’s condition required it.

She said Álvaro López-Huerta was more nervous than she was, crying and experiencing anxiety as doctors assessed the situation. The couple’s daughter, Lola Belén, was born on 22 July after Pombo had spent years undergoing medical monitoring because she had struggled to become pregnant. Pombo said the arrival of her daughter brought her great joy, despite the frightening hours before the delivery.
